Goldfish Snacks Has Surprised Me With Vanilla Cupcake Flavor

This past weekend I had the pleasure of trying a delicious treat I hadn’t tried before. I had no idea it existed until I came across this Youtube channel, The Try Channel. The channel features a panel of people living in Ireland, that try different treats, drinks, and shows from around the world. Viewers can send in items that they can try and so forth.

That being said, I watched a video where they tried different Goldfish snacks. Like any American, of course I had those cheddar cheese crackers growing up as a child. I occasionally have them when I go to donate blood to the Red Cross among they’re snack offerings.

However, I had no idea there were sweet varieties nor have I ever had the feeling to even try them, as my brain could not figure out what a sweet cheese Goldfish would even taste like. However, watching the video made me curious. It made me wonder if their taste buds were trash, or if maybe there was something to this flavor.

After much deliberation and a trip to the grocery store, my husband and I picked up Vanilla Cupcake Goldfish. Now, I know what you’re thinking. Why would they do this? I’m glad they did.

When I opened the bag, I freaked out. It smells like a cupcake. Immediately, a big smile came across my face and I couldn’t contain my excitement. The smell reminds me of when I open a container of cupcakes from the smore. When you smell it, you’ll have no question about what it’s going to taste like.

My first words after I tasted them was, “Oh my gosh these are so good! They taste like a cupcake!” What makes it taste like a cupcake is the powder on it. It tastes like vanilla frosting you would buy from the store. They turned what tastes like frosting into a crumbly powder and dusted them on the baked graham snacks that they use for the sweet varieties of Goldfish.

If I’m going to buy a sweet variety of Goldfish, I would definitely buy this bag again. However, I can’t binge these. As good as they are, they are a bit too sweet to binge on, and I am definitely a binge type of person when I’m in the mood. After about a handful of these snacks, I am drinking a lot of water, and I’m done for the day.

If I were to rate these cookies, I would rate them as an 8/10. The flavor is great and the smell is amazing, however I can’t eat anywhere near the serving size of 35 pieces.
